“It has become necessary for me to take time every week to unplug, put away the phone, put away the computer, and break free from the rush and pace of the week. I get so used to being so connected, it can be hard to break free. But every time I do, it’s like a whole different world opens up.” (Dave Ryan)
Remember a couple months ago when your water glass rippled like in Jurassic Park? That was the arrival in Los Angeles of LACMA’s Levitated Mass – a 680,000 pound granite megalith (or, rock) now suspended over a walkway at the museum. Another hot weekend, this one is. Get IN the water. Well, technically on the water but it’s as close as you’ll want to get. Downtown Boathouse has free kayaking! It’s true, just walk up, get a life vest, sign a waiver, and row around the Hudson. Pier 40 (at Houston) and Pier 96 (at 56th St.) both have kayaks waiting.
