Beginning with turning off my work email on Friday night, challah toast with my husband and son on Saturday, followed by storytime at the library and choosing our books for the week and ending the day playing outside. It’s the one time in the week that I get to just be, letting the moments unfold and the experiences happen. A rare break in an otherwise frantic schedule.” (Amber)

As autumn sets in the skies clear a bit over our hazy hometown and afford striking views of the skies and beyond – especially from the Griffith Observatory’s Star Parties. We get to try out a variety of telescopes, and to talk to knowledgeable amateur astronomers about the sky and their equipment. Free admission from 2 pm to 9:45 pm.

The twice annual Urban Air Market - a wonderful curated marketplace featuring sustainable and local design – makes its debut in the Lower Haight. Inspired by “green” designers, the market has us excited to peruse the clothing, accessories, and home decor on display.
